Without a doubt, Catinaccio form one of the most famous excursion areas in the whole of the Dolomite Mountains, thanks to the charming scenery and to the sheer size of the territory. It would be practically impossible to list the countless possibilities offered by this stupendous corner of the Fassa Valley in just a few lines. However, we can mention the Vajolet Towers, the tour of Antermoia, and Roda di Vael. And if you don’t feel up to an excursion, you can simply take the cable car up to Ciampedie and admire some of the world’s most stunning mountain sceneries. This large, natural balcony has 5 refuges and a children’s fun park, as well as the possibility to leave children with specially trained staff. There is an extremely easy walk from Ciampedie to Gardeccia – an excursion for people of all abilities. More demanding excursionists can use Gardeccia as a starting point for more difficult outings up to refuges at high altitudes, such as Vajolet, Re Alberto, Passo Santer, Principe, Antermoia and many more besides.
